Today’s Memory

My nerves have been on edge lately.  I’ve logged on to post a couple of times this week but just couldn’t write.  It has been a week of ups, downs, excitement and doubt.  This blog was meant to be an uplifting chronicle of my journey this year so I hesitate to post anything that isn’t positive.  But it is what it is.  Thursday’s (2/7) run was so uncomfortable and painful that I considered quitting.   I questioned why I was doing this….and my mind gave me an answer as I was putting away the tribute book….If not you, then who?  So I continue and will give my best as I attempt to complete my first marathon in Austin this weekend.  My mantra for 26.2 miles will be – If not you, then who?

If you would like for me to add a ribbon honoring an Alzheimer patient or care giver please leave names in the comments below.  I’d love to add more ribbons to my race gear like the picture attached from my last race.

Make it a memorable day!

  1. You’re amazing – and in our thoughts and prayers for whatever you and your happy feet do –
    just be healthy and safe!

  2. Taper time is always like that! Don’t worry!

  3. Can’t wait to cheer you on!!

  4. Please add a ribbon for my high school friend Joyce McCallum, she is suffering with Alzheimers.
Thank you so much, so proud of you!

  5. Keith, I came by here from your twitter page. I too am running for Alzheimer’s. My mom was diagnosed 14 years ago with Early Onset Dementia. I’ll be keeping you in my thought and prayers as you run. Your’e running for a great cause! We need to eradicate this crappy disease. If you wouldn’t mind adding Evelyn Carter to your gear I’d appreciate it.
